The Qur'an says: "I am going to make you Imam for the people." (Surah al Baqarah 2:124). Our contention that Prophethood is guidance and Imamat is leadership has been derived from the Quran, which says: "The Messenger has only to convey the message of Allah." (Surah al Maidah 5:99) But we know that the duty of an Imam is to supervise, to lead and to take care of those who accept his leadership.

Leadership was much earlier defined as an interactive process, in terms of leader-group relationships and interactions. Later as that behaviour of an individual, this initiates change in the goals, objectives, configurations, procedures, inputs, processes and ultimately the outputs of social system (Lipham, et al 1974). This definition takes into account effectiveness and efficiency and hence leadership is therefore dynamic.

EMAK
To Yang Berbahagia Datin Hjh Norpiah Bt Kudus,
Dearest Emak,
How are you Emak? It has been three weeks I last visited you. Oh Emak. I missed you terribly. Wanting to see you, hear you, talk to you, see you smile, hear that laughter and endless advice. Then I shall gaze upon your face and feel the warmth of your embrace until my hand you take in yours. Oh, Emak, I miss you so. Emak, this year I will be 48 years old on October 4th and this July you will be 74 years old. Time flies and my children are growing up so fast that they are so busy as well. They are grownups now. Emak, my children has friends and has expanded their horizon of friends. Sometimes they tend to get carried away by being silly and meaning just to have fun.
During the breaking dawn I am always up, putting my feet together and praying for Allah Almighty to give the strength for another day. Let this day becomes another special day like all the yesterdays. The strength that Emak has that makes what you are today. Emak, the abulation of prayers rekindles the warmth and restore the charge that needed me to put on smiles and much happiness. Emak, did you see the magnitude of thoughts that wishes to lay a good healthy breakfast spread for the energy to revive in the day’s work for all in the family. Sometimes, alas, wild ideas besieged and doldrums despairingly makes me fail to make good preparation. I am but flabbergasted.
Emak, you were a teacher and always were to be one. I am now in your shoes and I love children very much I do. But teaching has taken its toil. I wonder what happen today therefore there was never again a yesterday. The reaching of teaching goes beyond the spectrum and scope. Or was I manhandled in the way I should do in the teaching. But I enjoy teaching.
Emak, help me to follow in all of your ways as the path for all my tomorrows.
When weary or worried from all of life’s cares, intercede for me through your most blessed prayers. And when from straighter paths I flee, guide me with your motherly love. Emak, with loving care, do please tend to the wounds of my despair. When my hope seems to have faded and my life is all but jaded. Share with me too, in times of gladness. Rejoice with me as with great pleasure for I count my blessings beyond measure.
Emak, life is not that easy, yet I am appreciating life as you would have always said. Syukur, Alhamdulillah! Emak, 16: the wise Luqman said to his son, " And do not treat people with contempt; and when dealing with them do not adopt an attitude that shows arrogance and insolence (17:37). Emak, we shall always remember that Allah Almighty does not approve of the one whom, out of self-conceit, acts in a boastful manner (53:23). I try to practice the best but it is much better that I am but good. For neither I do know how to treat people with contempt nor do I deal with them with arrogance and insolence. Emak, my prayers will keep me strong and I persevere in all my doings. Do pray for me Emak.
Emak, I love you so much.
